 "Poor shelflife" 2007-12-28
By Jules (England)
Generally not impressed. The touchscreen on mine broke within a year, giving the phone an annoying life of its own.

Not recommended for people with large hands as the phone itself is rather narrow.

 "Great Phone" 2007-11-18
By SJC
I got the pink version of this for my birthday (it wasn't bought on amazon however) and its great! I have only had one problem with it but its not anything caused by the phone. My computer just doesn't recognise when I have put something in it from an mp3 player or phone. Another minor problem is that bluetooth sometimes goes slow to turn on. Apart from that I'm very happy with it!

"Wish i'd read these reviews before buying..." 2007-11-03
By G. Massam
I bought this on Orange PAYG. All the major complaints that the reviewers mention here are true. And i wish id read this before buying.

The keypad is too small and thin when the slider is extended, making it difficult to hold the phone in one hand and press the 9 and # keys. Irritating!!

The MP3 player periodically refuses to work.

The predictive text is a mess, it doesnt work half as well as my previous phone, a V3. Its not intuitive at all to try and get it to recognise the word you want, without major searching... yawn!

The ringtones are rubbish and it only gives you 4 message tones to choose from! What?

The touch screen is great - but when you push open the slider part, the buttons are so oversensitive you end up accessing a menu you didnt want to straight away! Frustrating!!

Its easy for me to see on this evidence why LG are not as major players in the mobile phone market as those such as SONY, NOKIA, SAMSUNG etc...

This purchase has made my mind up about avoiding LG phones in the future.

 "Hyped and disappointing" 2007-09-11
By T. N. Young (London, England)
I bought this phone mainly because it was the thinnest pay-as-go phone that I could find and it looked good. Of course, I found out this is no way to go about choosing a phone. I think the build of the phone itself is exceptional. The slide action is perfect and the responsiveness of all areas of the phone is excellent. My only problem with the build of the phone is the placement of the on/off switch and MP3/camera switch which are on the sides of the phone where you would naturally hold it. So you end up cutting people off and starting the MP3 player when you don't want it.

It's hard to believe they test the software side of this phone for any worthy length of time. If they did, then maybe they thought that if would still be funny to release it. This is a phone that wants you to play by its rules and isn't too bothered if you don't want to play ball. In predictive text simple things like automatically placing a capital letter after a full stop is not in its remit. Oh, you've spelt a word it doesn't understand? Well unless it chooses to question that spelling (which is rare) it won't ask you to manually input it, so you end up having to switch to manual texting. So you want yo input numbers in your text; well you're just going to have to cycle through the menus until you get to the numbers options, type your number, then switch back to predictive or manual. I don't understand. Have they not try the texting on other phones.

If you are listening to voicemail, the battery saver kicks in. So if you press a number to select an option it doesn't register because that has just reactivated the keypad, you have to press the same number a second time.

Actually, I think I'm going to give up on the amount of annoying things the phone endorses. In fact I miss most calls because the vibration is so weak. So it really isn't that useful at all as a phone.

So, I guess I'm saying I'm very disappointed tha an expensive phone doesn't get the basics right which is pretty shocking.

I'm now looking to get another phone.

Hope this helps
