"Unreliable and tempramental - DONT BUY IT!" 2005-10-08

got this phone with a great contract deal with Three. Was sorely disappointed tho. Had to get it replaced three times in the first few months and it cut out randomly in normal open areas where I should have got reception. I still have problems using it now and have had people complaining of loud crackling down the receiving end as well as loud screeching noises. Would NEVER trust LG for again.

 "LG 8120 - Beware !" 2005-03-03

The 3G contract I have is excellent - the LG 8120 phone that came with it, is appaling.
- In the 4 months I've had it, it has crashed 4 times. 3G finally took it away, and gave me another one. I lost ALL my contact details.
I'm certain my replacement phone will also end up being replaced ! If I'd known about this completely unreliable phone, earlier, I'd have gone elsewhere. In fact, as soon my contract ends, I'll be purchasing a Nokia again - the best previous mobiles I've ever had.

Regards,
LD

 "Don't bother" 2005-02-27
By
I got this phone two months ago it deteriorated rapidly. The battery wouldn't hold its charge, the phone would have no signal in lots of places. I finally had to take this phone back because it froze and I couldn't do anything with it. Don't bother getting this phone unless you are on contract and are guaranteed to get another one if it breaks.

This phone has many problems with it. Many of the people that i know with it have had to take it back. Some even have had to get the new software loaded on to it.

"GREAT PHONE!!! SHAME ABOUT THE TARRIF!!!" 2004-11-27
By Mr. P. Mckeever (london)
This Phone is brilliant. I brought it in thr summer of 2004 on a different site, and it came to £150, This was a good deal as in the shops it was £300. When i got it i was so glad i brought it, it has a MP3, Video/Photo Camera (That has unlimited duration!) Lots of picture memory, Voice recorder which can be used as ringtones, Free internet to 3-MOBILE sites, Sample ringtones before buying on 3-MOBILE site, and many, many more great features. Now here are the problems... It's Tariff. 3-PAY is the worst tariff to be with, The lowest top-up voucher is £15, and not only that it runs out after 30 days of having it! so for those who like having credit all the time it will cost them £15 per month! Another Bad thing is its memory, it can hold 42 1 minute voice recordings, 200 pictures and only 15 videos, but the videos have no limit to the time of recording. another problem which has to be the most frustrating, it's MP3, when using the downloading dist, it told me it was not compatible with my computer, and if proseeing with instilation, i could become vunreble to viruses, so didnt go ahead. My computer is Windows XP! this was very annoying, so i have no MP3. The video quality is Acceptably good, and is very custimisable and not only that it is the first phone to be equipped with an AVATAR creator for all contacts (custom-cartoon) But all round this phone is GREAT, and is also GREAT value for money! :)

 "lg c3300 - proud owner for 2 years" 2008-02-19
By F. Third (tonbridge, kent)
i have had this phone for two years and i still haven't had andy problems. it maybe doesn't suit the gadget seekers out there but it is great for a first mobile phone. it has a smashing camera with flash and zoom, a good quality sound recorder and access to WAP. I am sure that problems such as the one above only occur with phones with manufactural faults. i have had mine for 2 years and there have been no problems whatsoever. i am only selling it because i need bluetooth for my job, (headset in car). mine is the £24.99 one. feel free to email me if you have any queries about the phone.

 "LG : LIFE'S (NOT VERY) GOOD !" 2006-05-23
By LFC75 (Grimsby)
My girlfriend bought the LG C3300 just 2 days ago. It has already been taken back !

Everything seemed to be in full working order at first but within a few hours, the LCD display started to behave badly. More often than not, the screen was just blank. We managed to obtain some flickering by adjusting the positioning of the screen. The troubleshooting guide advised us to check the sim card and battery positioning and try again. Hooray, we got our display..................UPSIDE DOWN !!!!!

This seemed to be an ideal early or girly phone, as it is very light and compact, with plenty of cute icons and fun bouncy ringtones.

Not much good without a display though, eh ??

 "Brilliant but....." 2006-01-09

I have no complaints about this phone, it's easy to use, sleek and smooth to open and shut. Takes brilliant pictures, has a fairly large memory capacity and it's easy to use all the features e.g. text messages, contacts...
HOWEVER... if this phone had bluetooth or infared it would be ten times better. Maybe even a video recorder to match.

 "Poor shelflife" 2007-12-28
By Jules (England)
Generally not impressed. The touchscreen on mine broke within a year, giving the phone an annoying life of its own.

Not recommended for people with large hands as the phone itself is rather narrow.

 "Great Phone" 2007-11-18
By SJC
I got the pink version of this for my birthday (it wasn't bought on amazon however) and its great! I have only had one problem with it but its not anything caused by the phone. My computer just doesn't recognise when I have put something in it from an mp3 player or phone. Another minor problem is that bluetooth sometimes goes slow to turn on. Apart from that I'm very happy with it!

"Wish i'd read these reviews before buying..." 2007-11-03
By G. Massam
I bought this on Orange PAYG. All the major complaints that the reviewers mention here are true. And i wish id read this before buying.

The keypad is too small and thin when the slider is extended, making it difficult to hold the phone in one hand and press the 9 and # keys. Irritating!!

The MP3 player periodically refuses to work.

The predictive text is a mess, it doesnt work half as well as my previous phone, a V3. Its not intuitive at all to try and get it to recognise the word you want, without major searching... yawn!

The ringtones are rubbish and it only gives you 4 message tones to choose from! What?

The touch screen is great - but when you push open the slider part, the buttons are so oversensitive you end up accessing a menu you didnt want to straight away! Frustrating!!

Its easy for me to see on this evidence why LG are not as major players in the mobile phone market as those such as SONY, NOKIA, SAMSUNG etc...

This purchase has made my mind up about avoiding LG phones in the future.

 "Hyped and disappointing" 2007-09-11
By T. N. Young (London, England)
I bought this phone mainly because it was the thinnest pay-as-go phone that I could find and it looked good. Of course, I found out this is no way to go about choosing a phone. I think the build of the phone itself is exceptional. The slide action is perfect and the responsiveness of all areas of the phone is excellent. My only problem with the build of the phone is the placement of the on/off switch and MP3/camera switch which are on the sides of the phone where you would naturally hold it. So you end up cutting people off and starting the MP3 player when you don't want it.

It's hard to believe they test the software side of this phone for any worthy length of time. If they did, then maybe they thought that if would still be funny to release it. This is a phone that wants you to play by its rules and isn't too bothered if you don't want to play ball. In predictive text simple things like automatically placing a capital letter after a full stop is not in its remit. Oh, you've spelt a word it doesn't understand? Well unless it chooses to question that spelling (which is rare) it won't ask you to manually input it, so you end up having to switch to manual texting. So you want yo input numbers in your text; well you're just going to have to cycle through the menus until you get to the numbers options, type your number, then switch back to predictive or manual. I don't understand. Have they not try the texting on other phones.

If you are listening to voicemail, the battery saver kicks in. So if you press a number to select an option it doesn't register because that has just reactivated the keypad, you have to press the same number a second time.

Actually, I think I'm going to give up on the amount of annoying things the phone endorses. In fact I miss most calls because the vibration is so weak. So it really isn't that useful at all as a phone.

So, I guess I'm saying I'm very disappointed tha an expensive phone doesn't get the basics right which is pretty shocking.

I'm now looking to get another phone.

Hope this helps
